"A George Washington dollar coin struck without its edge inscriptions, including “In God We Trust.” An unknown number of new George Washington dollar coins were mistakenly struck without their edge inscriptions. The flawed coins made it past inspectors and went into circulation Feb. 15."

Is it the hope that true Americans will accept this as a mistake or do you truly believe that this is a conspiracy by Atheists, left wingers and the ACLU to do away with your God ?

The government has no business endorsing particular religious beliefs on our currency, mistake or not. There's a little thing in the first amendment called the Establishment Clause, which mandates separation of church and state.

The coins that are leaving out "In God We Trust" on the rim are "mistake" coins... and I plan to get myself one as a commemorative.

There is no "conspiracy" of atheists, left wingers, and the ACLU to "do away with your God". By all means, keep your god. Just keep him out of the governmental, public places we ALL share.

Are you saying I'm not a "true" American because I don't accept your silly sky pixie? It's because of people like you that patriotism has become so esoteric.

No one is responsible, just a printing error.

If anyone really believes that there is some evil conspiracy by Atheists, liberals and the ACLU to remove religion from the U.S. then you really need to lay off the crack-pipe for a while.

Right. 'Cause if "IGWT" isn't on every single darn coin produced in this country, the entire edifice of organized religion will crumble, and our New Atheistic Masters will dance naked in the streets to celebrate their victory over the defeated Christian masses.

Get real. I hope you don't actually feel that your beliefs are so weak that this could possibly be a threat.

Most likely a mistake, but who knows. Does it really matter? It is only money (the root of all evil) and nobody can take your god from you!

Come on ... it's just a bunch of letters on a piece of metal. Don't get so paranoid. It was simply a manufacturing defect.
