I agree with PfcsBaby, it is less complicated to make the drive from Pearson. However, before you decide on Pearson, the JC Munro Airport is much, much smaller and traffic around there is close to non-existent. Traffic around Pearson, and on HY 401 can be very heavy especially at rush hours. If your flight schedule has you landing on a weekday anytime between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm at Pearson, I'd take a better look at JC Munro.

The other advantage to JC Munro is that flights to there tend to be cheaper as landing fees into Pearson are very expensive and that's usually reflected in the cost of the airfare.

The first link is from Hamilton to Fergus and the second from Toronto to Fergus. Depending on what time you arrive can mean a lot as far as how long it'll take you to get to Fergus. Personally, I'd go from Toronto. It's faster and less complicated to get there.

About 1.5 hours...I live in Hamilton and my grandmother lives in Fergus. Take the 403 to Highway 6 and go through Guelph.
