Because all the other resources will be depleted sooner (first copper, then oil and gas) or later (coal and uranium)

And all this chemical potential energy in fossil fuel came long ago from the sun. It is the truth, only the truth. Even the earth came from the Sun !!!

Also, I think that as an American, politically it would be better to be less dependant of the middle east, venesula etc. for oil resources..

Also these sustainable energy sources are release less greenhouse gases and carbon into the atmosphere so they are better for the environment.

because the fossil fuels we use now will run out. the nuclear plants are making toxic waste we don't know how to get rid of. if we do not start to use cleaner energy, global warming will worsen. this has many negative effects.

The earth has been recycling our air and fossil fuels for millions of years. What is more sustainable than that.
