Okay as i am a chef, here`s what you need to know, first if the Parmesan is dry then you don't have to worry,it will be fine, however if it is moist then don`t use it!The reason why is because bacteria thrives at room temperature, and it loves dairy produce, now image this,on a pin head you have one bacteria! every 20 minutes it double in size,by the next morning you would have millions of bacteria just on a pin head,so you see why people get food poisoning!remember all bacteria on food ever needs is 3 things, time, temperature, and moistuer,so always refrigerate your dairy produce and meat and never ever leave it out!!Hope this helps everyone!

It just dries out faster at room temperature.

Since Kraft parmesan cheese already tastes like shredded cardboard, you don't have anything to worry about.

Now, do yourself a big favor and buy some REAL parmesan cheese and a cheese grater.

There is no way I would take a chance on food poisoning. if the recommended storage is refrigeration on the label ... it is put there for a bloody good reason. Don't be mean about a couple of bucks of wasted cheese. Better you throw that out than have to spend a heap more dollars on doctors visits and medicine, not to mention feel disgustingly ill and smell like a pole cat. Try to always keep food stored as recommended. Your health is always worth looking after.

Cheers,

Lisa

Dried parmesan cheese never used to say "keep refrigerated", so no, it's not ruined after one night. I never used to refrigerate mine. It's like dried oregano or pasta; it'll stay fresh longer in the fridge but it won't go bad.

Unless your house is like an oven, it should be fine. In England, cheese is regularly left out. I leave my butter out-I never refrigerate it although the label says to. Been doing it for years with no ill effects. I would say your cheese is fine

no, you can still eat it. just keep it refrigerated the next time you use it. manufacturers won't make that kind of food recipe that can be ruined in a short time, especially kraft are well-known for making good cheese.

you realize that parmesan cheese is made out of refrigeration. the only reason to keep it in the fridge is to keep it soft.

No it is not ruined maybe a little dried than before, not to worry. Cheese is basically dried up milk curd that is aged in a controlled environment.
