I have seen the death and misery we cause billions of animals each year just by turning a blind eye. I have heard that there are farms that raise animals the way we should and I still like meat. I mainly eat deer meat that my father still hunts. But after seeing the proof of these huge conglomerate companies just brutalising animals in every miserable way they can conceive. I am done buying meat or dairy products from restaurants, and grocery stores. I hope there are some small family owned farms left to buy from!

KUDOS TO YOU! I am giving your question a star. I am a die hard vegetarian, due to the animal cruelty thing and other issues, but have no issues whatsoever for someone choosing to continue to enjoy meat in a more responsible way. Check to see if you have a food co op in your area. Don't assume there is not one just because you have never heard of it. I have lived in a tiny rural town for over 20 years, and only found out a year ago that there is on just a couple of miles from my house. At a food co op, you become a member and purchase products from local farmers. You should be able to get good quality "happy" meats (I like that) from reliable farmers, as well as good produce, free range eggs, and raw milk, butter and cheeses. If you do not have a co op, check neighboring communities. I would hazzard a guess you will find several readily accessible. I commend you for your decision to not support such a horrid industry. If I could, I would cook you a lovely juicy steak with all the trimming, just for being open minded enough to make a good choice. Here is your star. You can email me if you want more info

SOME times your local butcher shops buy from the farmers ---any way ours does.
