This obviously scared the crap out of the gods (Gen 3:22), and is why Adam and Eve were banished from Eden.

Is this how the Christian god become god? Just eating some fruit? That isn't that special.

Do fundies not read the Bible? Came from the mouth of the "Big Guy" himself:

And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us (obviously speaking about other gods), knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

Adam adn Eve had eternal life and were able to eat of the Tree of Life, Satan told them that if they ate of the Tree of Knowledge, they would be like God. They did, and they were, having both Knowledge and Immortality. Then God got a little nervous and ousted them. Satan never lied.

Adam and Eve didn't become gods, that was the false promise of the serpent. The only real thing that happened was shame, fear, death and decay.

It wasn't the fruit itself that did it, it was the disobedience.

Oh boy. The original Bible text tells us this:
First of all, there was no fruit-eating sin in the Garden of Eden. Thats one of the biggest lies ever told.
The tree of the knowledge of good/evil was satan himself. He beguiled Eve. That means he "wholly seduced" her, get the picture? When satan told Eve that she could become as a "god", he was lying to her. Why do you think they call him the "father of lies"???
Its kinda like when you tell a girl that "you'll respect her in the morning", ya know??

You become Immortal... but that doesnt necessarily mean you are a god... just not able to die. Just imagine if we were immortal but were decapitated. Head in USA and Body in Europe, how horrible to be undying in such a state.

That's a pitiful question. The tree of life offers eternal life, it doesn't make you like God (singular). You can go to hell and be tormented for eternity - which is not like God (singular).

You are a piece of work. With this question, you've proved that over thousands of years, MAN will still fall for the same ol tricks satan throws. I pity you and your pointless attempts.

Genesis 3:4 - 5

"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

(From NIV).

As someone else has pointed out, it was Satan who said that. You might also note that he said you will be "like God", not "gods".

Edit: A banana is LIKE a cucumber in shape. Do you think I'm telling you that bananas are cucumbers?

Basically, immortality is what seperates us from the gods.

Hmm... since Christians claim our souls are immortal then how are we different from gods?
