Most of the time I do, just because you'd think that they would be able to relate and sympathize with issues concerning the Black community even if they'd been raised in the upper or middle class. Also, while every white Republican isn't racist, plenty of them are and they represent states that are pretty conservative and close-minded. States that you don't a see a whole lot of black people living in. So I do wonder of those blacks who are Republicans, why would they agree with a party who really doesn't to quote Kanye West, doesn't care about Black people.
My uncle was a black Republican, and I never really asked him why he was, because he wasn't the kind of person you could really question. But I assume it was because he was wealthy and that's a party that caters to the wealthy. But again the majority of blacks in America aren't upper class, so I don't know how he could support a party that was in his interest but not in his people's interest. But sometimes, I figure that it doesn't even matter because politicians regardless of party lines are quite similiar anyway. Most are corrupt no matter if they are Democrats or Republicans, black or white. It's a tough job to do and most of them sell out on whatever issue they claim they're gonna change, so I guess in the end it really doesn't matter.

The question assumes that blacks are the only ones betrayed, and republicans the only ones that have betrayed anyone.
Neither party has served the best interest of America. However, that's not what parties do. They get people elected.

race has nothing to do with the way you vote. people have been told over and over again backs vote dem. white vote reb. that's bull. a person no matter what their skin color can decide to vote whatever party they want to vote. race has nothing to with voting. if you're american vote for issues that help americans. you should look out for the interest of the nation not the black community or the white community.
in a country that's build on different races coming together why do we still fight about our different skin colors?

More betrayed by the democrats. Republicans want to offer a hand up while dems want to offer a hand out which just perpetuates the problem.

The only betrayal would be if Black people only voted for Democrats. If you do not have people voting for both parties you do not have people thinking and making their own decisions. That is what is important not political parties.

How? Contrary to popular belief, we do not share one monolithic African American mind that allows us to bond and recognize each other. Politicians are shady regardless of color.

Shouldn't you call them "African-American" republicans?
Have you ever been to Africa?
How did they betray you?
Does it shock you to see black Americans NOT wanting to live off of welfare? or NOT blaming white people for all their problems? or NOT earning a job through affirmative action?
Someone call Jesse Jackson!

the dem. have the black community blinded to the truth. the dems do not care like you think. the main reason for their position on immigration is the possibility for the hispanic vote. do some research and find the truth out for yourself.
