Im having a prob with the sound on my PC & could really do with some help!
Heres my problem...............................

The sound on my PC was working fine, but i had to re-install windows (so i know my speakers & sound card is fine)

When windows was finished installing, i had ~NO Sound!
i tried to run an mp3 from windows media player but it said

Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.

I think it could be something to do with the sound card driver, but as ive got NO idea what the make & model numnber is, i cant download a driver.

In my hardware manager, i have the audio codec files etc that i need.
There are however 2 yellow exclamation marks under 'Other Devices' though.............
PCI Device
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

Any Ideas?

The PCI Device is most likely going to be your sound card. The Video Controller is your video card. That's why your colors aren't crisp and such right now.

Anyway, without a computer make and model number, I can't tell you what sound card driver to use.

If this computer is custom-built, you'll need to unplug everything, pop the case, take out the sound card and get the model number information from it and then do a search online for the driver. There's no other way around that, basically.

Same goes for the video card.

Hope this helps. Message me if I can be of further assistance.

you need sound card drivers, the ones with yellow marks, while online double click them and a wee window opens, click on the driver tab and click update drivers, you must be online and let it look on the internet for the latest drivers, that should fix it for you, i hope this helps. or go to the manufacturers web site and look under downloads for the drivers you need
