YES!! i went in to a beauty college years ago where they had always done a good job. i asked for a 5 inch layer (my usual) where they comb my hair straight up and measure 5 inches from scalp.
this gal didn't comb my hair up...she measured 5 inches off the bottom and SNIP. she cut 5 inches off the length! i about died! i didn't realize what she did until she stepped back and said 'ohhhh i'm sorry!'
there wasn't even enough hair left to comb up and layer. so i ended up with some short layered bob that laid on my neck when i was expecting a nice long flowing "farrah faucett" hair doo! (this was in the 70's!!)
UGGG
not only THAT - she was too frazzled to continue and her instructor had to finish... her instr. was mad and took it out on my head! needless to say - i never went back.

went to my hairdresser who had been doing my hair since i was 3 years old and i dont know if she was having a bad day or what but somehow i came out with two different haircuts i had a pageboy look in the front and it was all chin length and then in the back it just hung down and was like 3 inches longer then the rest of it.. no layers or anything it was awful! and i went back to have her fix it and all she did was trim more off and leave the style the same so all i could do was let it grow out and go get it cut somewhere else

LOL!! - I Love this question, Asker!!!

This has been the nightmare that will never leave me. When I was 17, I was elected to the homecoming court. My hair was like a reddish/orange color at the time. I went to the beautician--somebody who was doing my hair for eons--and I told her I wanted it in a French roll. OK, she put a relaxer on my hair, and when she applied the last drop of the cream, she just left and walked outside. She stayed out there for like 30 minutes, and my head started burning. I went to the sink to wash it out, but she came back. She said, "I'm sorry honey, is your head burning?" Duh!!!! I was pissed off. She washed the relaxer out. Then when she finished washing my hair, she called my mom over to talk to her. They were talking and pointing in the back of my head. They wouldn't tell me what they were talking about. About 30 minutes later--after my hair dried--she attempted to style my hair. She said she couldn't get all my hair in the roll. I turned around in the mirror and a big patch of hair was missing from my head!!!!!! And to top it off, my hair looked like a big, fat, fake donut sat on top of my head!!! I got out of the chair crying and people were looking at me funny. My mom dragged me out of the salon. I was crying during the homecoming (they thought I was just happy), then I cried when I got home (I locked myself in the bathroom for 4 hours). And then I cried for about 2 months after that. Now, I'm 24 - my hair is healthy, and I've never been to another beautician since!

I got a perm and looked horrendous! She used the smallest curler on me. Then she forgot- I was burned in several places on my scalp. I was so upset I never said anything. ( I was 16) My mother went to the salon the next day. They fired her.

Went to get my hair highlighted. She bleached it first, it was bright orange. Neutralized it, turned it white. Then toned it. Was still pretty bright.
