Do male birds have male parts up inside their bodies which are not noticeable until during mating?

That's pretty much the jist of it. They have sex and then the sperm can remain alive inside the female for up to two weeks. It is enveloped in the egg whilst it is developing inside the hen. They are not fertilised after laying as another answerer said.

Everything they need "pops out" when they mate. Haven't you ever seen 2 sparrows mate?
