I'm moving into a dorm VERY soon and for some reason, I'm not being given any information on whether the beds are Twin or Twin XL. If the bed is just Twin, will it be overly frustrating to have to tuck the excess under the mattress? Will it stay?

It will be frustrating, and it won't stay.

Take your best guess and keep the reciept. Try to buy them at a store that will have an outlet near where you will be. Or buy both and return the one you don't need. The clips sort of work, but you'll probably have to readjust them every few days.

Keep calling, and offer to hold while someone checks. Bug them until they answer, or ask to be transferred to a student's room. Maybe you can get an answer from someone who actually lives there.

It will stay, but to insure that it will stay, there are bands that clip onto the edge of the sheet and run under the mattress to where it clips onto the other edge of the sheet to keep the sheet from slipping off
