Its because over the last 20 years our police have been converted from public servants to govt. employees .as such they are now public predators for govt. profit . Its not just the fault of police but our govt. and judges .Who's responsibility it was to keep govt. inside a fence to protect people from tyranny and be impartial in their decisions .Justice is (an impartial judgment based on truth fact and reason )The fact that judges don't tell juries they have a right to judge the law as well as the fact .The courts grant police and prosecutors immunity from all liability for lying on the stand .Is not impartial or based on truth .The fact they are sworn by oath and by law to support and defend the constitution .Then allow people to be charged by laws that are in direct violation of it .Makes it obvious there is no justice in our courts ,only victims .The fact that 200 innocent people we were going to execute until DNA tests proved their innocence would prove this .Who takes responsibility for the people they murdered before DNA .Juries were to protect the people from being victims of govt.tyranny and oppression of bad laws .Not to convict citizens to rob and victimize in a biased unjust court to profit a corrupt govt. as they would have us believe .Juries are the only safety for the people ,but most don't know their rights as jurors. Politicians pass unconstitutional laws design to make citizens criminals to profit govt. Unfortionately they are aimed at our poor citizens who are already struggling to get by .With no money they are defenseless in court and easy prey for prosecutors with unlimited resourses

Oh my God!!! Someone has found our secret. OK I'll confess, I just got into police work for the money. There are TONS of money being made by police. Our salaries are SOOO huge that I can't understand why anyone wants to steal or sell crack when they could just as easily became a police officer and make a lot more money. But then after I became an officer, I realized the real benifit; the power. I mean real power. The power to screw the citizens over and make my quota... Wait just a damn minute, who set a quota? I have all the power and I ain't set no quota... musta been one of those politicians who THINK they have power. They should know it's the highly paid police who got the real power. Man I gotta admit i feel guilty, you know being a worthless prick and making all that money screwing over guys like the smarta** that wrote this question. I think I'll go write some more meaningless tickets so I can make more money. Yeah that'll make me feel better.

You are an idiot. It is very obvious that you either have gotten into your fair share of trouble, or as you stated are from a small town. first of all, where you get your statistics from, i do not know, but all the cops I know are sweethearts who truly care about their community and try their hardest to put the bad guy away everyday.
It is so sad that these cops are out protecting citizens like you who have a chip on their shoulder when everyday that they go to work could ultimately be their last. You have no respect, and in turn you don't deserve any yourself.

By pulling you over and giving you a ticket for speeding, carless driving, or whatever...we ARE serving and protecting. We are protecting the 5 year old running into the road to get his ball. You got a speeding ticket and likely will not speed again for some time. You will be able to react to that child running into the road and stop in time as you were doing the speed limit. It is not the whole world out to get you. It is not cops picking on you.
We are doing the job we are paid to do. We are paid to write tickets occasionally when we are not scrapeing up a 5 year old off the pavement who got hit by a speeder or using a shovel to get the last remaining body parts from a drunk driving victim.
By writing tickets and arersting drunks we are trying to be proactive......STOPPING the crime before it happens..which results in protecting and serving.
Sometimes we even have to protect people from themselves.....sound like anyone you know?

What's your question? By the way do you think we like "performance standards" Those are numbers set forth by higher ups! I hate those. I would rather be out doing foot patrol, hiding in the shadows, getting out on people leaving crack houses. I could go a lifetime w/ out issuing a parking ticket. I only use my traffic tickets to pull over people leaving drug houses. I work third shift. So if your out around 3am in the crappy part of town that's your bad....

stfu. what to you really know about cops. nothing. your prolly just mad you got a speeding ticket. its kind of our job to stop criminals. maybe if you weren't doing anything wrong, we would stop bugging you.
and there is no goddamned quota. it is not legal to make that and no department I've seen has one.
next time your in trouble see who comes.....we are part of the few people willing to put our lives on the line every day

In my Police area we never had quotas. We could write as many tickets as we wanted and I always like to give second chances to the speeders I caught - I gave then another chance not to get another ticket!
Are you seriously looking for a logical rebuttal to your rant or are you just looking for other low-life pond-scum to support your misinformed, liberal biased, pre-conceived, already decided conclusion?

Somebody got a ticket! =)
It just depends on your area. I have a few cops like that in my area, mostly just the Motorcycle Cops. Imagine life without them though, it'd be chaos. Be thankful for what we have, jackass.
