This temporary life is a stage, a preparation for our eternal life. Here we are to serve the Lord, not ourselves, and store up "treasures in Heaven" that will never decay. We are encouraged, if not commanded, to lead as many people as possible into the Light of Christ.

Seriously, I think our main purpose in life is basically to work hard: make a living, eat, reproduce, and die. But I also I think that we are here on earth because we have to serve god. The only reason we are here on earth is because of our sins and throughout our life we have to learn how to be a better, hardworking person before we die or else something bad might happen. But this is just my weird opinion!

We are all of different race, nationality ,religion and social status, financially and education.
Remember we struggle and fought like hell when dad and mum made us in her "womb" and we are the sole victor and survivor!
We became a human being with feelings for love, hate, envy etc.
We grew up from childhood to adulthood experiencing all the world can throw at us and we learn to fight and survive and live through it all.
We are survivors and will continue to do so until we produce our own offsprings and to witness their own children too coming into this world, they are all fighters and survivors too.
To be a human being, and continue with the species, that is our purpose in life.

Honestly, there is no purpose to your life. You just live, thats it, thats all. its up to you to find purpose in your existance because no one is going to do it for you. And a 2000 year old book written when mankind still believed the earth was flat by a bunch of sheepfarmers isn't the place to look.

What is our purpose in life? - To fellowship with your Creator.
Fellowship was lost due to sin. The sin issue could not be dealt with by good works, traditions, or rituals. The wages of sin is death. A loophole was created by God that a substitute death could be used, hence the Levitical system of sacrifice, a picture of what was to come. God came down in the form of man, to live, and die in our place to re-establish our lost fellowship. This event tore the veil in the Temple to announce that the wall of separation between man and God was over. All we need do is come to Christ for the cleansing of sins and obtain the once-lost fellowship.
Why are we here? - For God to obtain a people, who by free will choice, choose Him without seeing Him. Who trust in Him when all the world trusts themselves.
