its funny, i was watching Borat yesterday ( DVD out now folks) and remember that rodeo manager guy that was fooled into letting him sing the national anthem in the rodeo event ( and ended up almost creating a scene from the christ cruxifiction)?
He said something like ( talking about how the crowd was just outraged by Borat actions):
"these are good, old fashioned God fearing Americans..they will skin you!"
LOL isnt that the truth!
If anyone has seen the movie, yall remember what they were cheering at before they realized he was just making fun of them..oy!

You seem to have a hard core of what I would class as Religious Zealots in the States that we just don't have in the UK. None have a sense of humour when it comes to their beliefs - We have a TV show here called Top Gear (car show) Recently they took a drive down through a few Southern States in the US and actually ended up being chased by guys in pickups throwing beer cans and rocks at them for a religious comment written on the side of one of the cars - couldn't believe how worked up people got - even the film crew had to take flight!!

I honestly don't think that God is a problem for anyone. Atheists and religious may agree that believing in God is a matter of faith and personal choice.
It is fair to assume that they will also agree that believers in God who attempt to impose their beliefs on others creates hostility.
As for the way Borat sang the National Anthem, well, I can't say much. Singers often modify the tune a little. For me what matters is their intention when modifying it.
I think it was worse to hear the National Anthem being sang in Spanish a few months ago. But I grant the people their right to free speech. I have the right to ignore them if I feel that our National Anthem is being desecrated.

the problem is you are being lied to and shown something that you think is there, that really isn't there.
recall that picture of....look one way...its an old hag...look again, its a young woman w/ a hat? life is exactly like that. either you see and realize God....or you don't.
next you have to realize the TV, media, news is 100% staged, programed, rehearsed and even had science put to it so they can brainwash you more n more n more.
the movie part you mentioned is perfect example....how is the best way to hide a lie? by telling that lie and making a joke of it. so the movie is made to show deception, and what happens when it almost happens...showing that you might of been in front of god...but then humor is added so you think that is all just hooie and junk and you laugh and look the other way.
psychology really can help with understanding much of this for it will help explain how the human mind works more and how one can perceive what is in from of them.
and to show you how easy it is to trick you and your brain....here are a few clips.....once you see the truth in the videos.....realize how easy it was to trick your mind. then apply that exact thought to life.....if I can be tricked that easy on a video......what can a government (usa) do to me that had the power of a stealth plane in the 1950's when I, as an american wasn't even hold a AM transister radio yet...yet they could have a plane that is even considered advanced today....55 yrs after it was built? Just imagine what they could do to you today with trickery. just try to imagine......
