a 2 year old should not be drinking formula

First of all a 2 year old should not be drinking formula he should be on regular milk by now. As far as the eating children go through phases sometimes my girls will just not want to eat that much just a bit here and there. Also he might be upset that your mom is gone to. Being skinny though my oldest is super skinny and that is just her that is the way her body was built she was on formula for a normal period of time then put on whole milk and she still stayed super skinny some kids are just like that. If he is not complaining that he hungry I would not worry and since he is not eating all that much try giving him snacks throughout the day like the fruits and granola bars. It might take him a few weeks to get used to Mommy being gone but he will get over it. Also try giving him vitamins if you are worried about nutrition. Again I would not worry to much you have to also remember he has a small stomach still being only 2 snacks would be best during none meal times and just a tip when it is dinner time or lunch or whatever and he doesn't want to eat what you give him don't give in see if he will at least eat a few bites of what you are having don't make special meals for him or he will expect that forever. Hope this calms your nerves he will be fine.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this - its really nice of you to be so concerned. Try getting a good brand of macaroni and cheese, or just cheese - its got lots of calcium and calories which should help. Also there is this pre-packaged food for toddlers called Gerber Graduate meals - ravioli and spagetti - made healthy for toddlers, and its pretty yummy. You can get it in the baby food aisle at the grocery store. Offer lots of fruits and veggies, anything he will eat. I know sometimes kids go thru phases where they won't eat much, or only eat orange food, or stomething like that, so don't worry too much unless he loses weight or it seems to last more than a few days. If all else fails, have your dad take him to the doctor and go with him since you notice more than you dad does. If you are really worried, talk to your teacher or school nurse, or your mom when you do talk to you. Good luck, and you are a great big sister!!

Oh yeah, some kids are recommended to stay on formula past a certain age. Maybe try whole milk too!

The reason he's NOT eating is because he's on formula. Formula is designed for BABIES to fill them. Take the formula away and give him Vitamin D milk. Then try things like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or carrot sticks, some cheese, yogurt, that sort of thing. The longer you have him on formula the more damage you do to his body. He should be drinking fruit juices, water, milk, things like that. If your other brother is way to skinny, then it must be his metabolism. Not every child will be plump. Taking him off formula too soon??? Sounds like someone needs some parenting classes.

he will be fine hes just going through mommy with drawls my 3 year old does it all the time! You could try little snack foods that would fill him up like goldfish, or animal crackers my son likes to be fed when I'm not there. Also a two year old SHOULD NOT be on formula that stops helping when they turn a year they need something more they have milk products on the baby isle by the formula for kids his age i can't think of the name of it but it comes in like a 4 or 6 pack and it has a little bear on it my son drank that its like a protein shake for kids! If I can remember the name I'll get back with you just take it slow and feed him what ever you can get him to eat! good luck!

From the top of my head: Try Heinz baby food... soggy cornflakes, biscuits made soggy with a little milk. If he likes fruits - go for calcium rich mashed bananas. Fruit yogurt, pressed soft bread cheese s/wiches, Instant noodles, potatoes(fried or boiled) with boiled rice can be mashed (made into small balls). If the weather permits, a scoop of ice cream's not a bad idea in the afternoons. Try to whisk some cream with an egg and fry it for a while just so its cooked well and feed that w/ soft white centres of bread.

Try to make all this as colorful as possible & get him distracted while feeding him like put on his fav show (telly at a sufficient distance ofcourse).

Hope all works out and a pat on the back for your efforts!

Don't worry about the formula there is nothing wrong with that my daughter was 3 when we stopped giving her formula b/c she refused
milk! The doc was the one who told us it was ok to keep giving her the formula! Now you might be giving him too much of it,the formula should be given at bed time only or nap time.He will know when he's hungry and 2yr olds don't eat much anyway so do not worry too much.Try making some sandwiches like penut butter and jelly and cut them in small pieces,or grill cheese, does he like soup? Fruit is good but that's snack food
not a meal!Hope I have helped!

Try feeding the solid food before giving him any type of formula. Let him have juice or water instead.

He may be filling up on the formula before getting enough food in him. Make the formula the 'dessert' of the meal.

He probably is liking the taste of the formula better than the food. You need to get the food in him while he is the most hungry

Chicken strips, green beans or mixed vegetables and potatoes or macaroni & cheese. The main thing is to get him to eat some vegetables - carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus.

Cut everything up really small so he won't choke. We have all kinds of baby food in jars in America. He is past the formula and baby food stage though.

mac-n-cheese sometimes works, chicken noodle soup too. if all else doesnt work go to his pediatrician and he should know what to do if things get worse.
