I got a speeding ticket for going way over the limit a while ago, and they sentenced me to a year of probation for it, with the terms being that I have to meet with a probation officer once per month and I am not allowed to leave the state of North Carolina until August. I need to fly to Wisconsin however. My question is, would my airline ticket purchase go into any data record that my probation officer could find out about and know I left the state, or would I be fine to do that? thanks

your p.o, will not find out unless someone tells or something happened to you in wisconsin, data like does not go to you p.o you can always just ask your p.o. for permisson to go.

If you ask permission to fly to another state, you will probably get it... just some paperwork... and YES if a ticket is in your name - it is documented (you can thank the patriot act for this).

TRUE STORY:

A man on probation decided to leave the state and go to Vegas. After the plane took off, the one on probation was spotted by his probation officer who happened to be on the same plane. The only thing the probation told him when he saw him was "Have a good weekend and see me on Monday".

Don't know how he had a good time knowing the axe was going to fall on Monday.

Don't risk it. Just get permission - there really should be no reason why they would deny you.

All you have to do is get a travel voucher from your probation officer. It will indicate where you are going, your itinerary and when you will arrive home.
