My cat had 5 live kittens and 2 stillborn. I am concerned because her stomach looks low near her rear end. I am not sure if this is another kitten inside of her.

Thank you to everyone that sent answers to my question. I phoned the vet and he said that after 2 days my cat would be in great distress if another kitten were inside her. Also, 5 kittens is alot. He did not think my cat had another kitten inside her. I will keep a close watch on her. She is not showing any distress and is eating, nursing the kittens, and keeping herself and them clean.

Wow! 7 kittens and possibly 1 more! That's a very large litter for a cat. If you notice your cat straining for a prolonged period of time, it's possible there could be another kitten in the birth canal. If she doesn't deliver this kitten, your cat's life could be in danger. See if her breathing is labored and if she appears to be in pain. Your best bet is to take her to a vet where they can determine for sure. If she seems physically fine, however, and is nursing her other kittens contently, she is probably fine. I would give your vet a call just in case so they are ready. Good luck.
