On its own or with coke is good, ginger ale too. Try it with chocolate milk added or even Champagne, the options are limitless as with any drink - let your imagination roam.

Tasting a Henessy Cognac or a cognac for that matter is not a simple matter. It requires patience and time.

First, the Cognac must be at a room temperature; then try to enjoy the bouquet; the aromas of flowers, wood, fruits etc. That should take a few minutes. Repeat this three or four times and a change in the bouquet, and aromas will become very noticeable.

You can use different types of glasses, in general they end up beeing opened at the end to let the aromas open.

Each glass type will bring different emphasis to the enjoyment of Cognac. As with the liquid itself, you need to find your own preference. (try to find a tulip glass if you don have a ballon glass)

By the way, Cognac is aged in Limousin oak casks (barrels). It's aging period is between 2 to 50plus years. Once transferred out of the oak wood casks into bottles, Cognac stops aging.
Please remember that to prevent cognac reacting with the cork, its bottles must be stored vertically.

A man from Haiti once showed me, what you do is drop a shot into a glass then fill the glass with Heineken. Drink it like a normal beer. Don't do too many of these though, they'll mess you up.

Any type of cognac is intended to be served room temperature, and served in a brandy snifter. this is how you will get its true flavor. I have never been one mix cognac, as I feel it is unnecessary. It is also the prefect drink for a great cigar!
