traction is alright... however you will have to do regular neck exercise... sleep on a flat bed without pillow... do not do any thing with leaning your head down... your head should be up right... always...

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas (natural muscle relaxers) daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, (if this does not do it you probably need a chiropractor as well) you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Things to try from headache self-help list; -take a nap -have a hot shower or bath -take a headache tablet or naturopathic remedy for headaches -go for a massage or use personal massager on tense areas of body -sex is a natural tension reliever -if it's an on-going occurrence try keeping a diary for when headaches happen, what you eat and drink each day and what's going on in your life to look for triggers -if you still can't get a handle on your headaches on your own you are now armed with information to take to your G.P. or naturopathic doctor *Humour every day really helps!!! (especially ability to laugh at self)~spiritual side to life can help cope with pain as well as documented in many studies

Yes, we do get head ache due to cervical spondylosis. Traction will help you to relieve the pain in the neck and not the head ache. Try ayurvedic pill shirashooladri vajra ras 1-1-1 for a month for the head ache. You should get relief within one week. Noni fruit juice is another excellent remedy for any pain. Helps very well for spondylosis, migraine etc.

You should NEVER apply traction without specific Dr.'s orders, especially if you haven't been examined properly you could do permanent damage to yourself. I do know how bad your headache can get with this but you must see the Dr. for advice. Take care!

Possibly a halo brace but you'd be much better off talking to a doctor about this.

Spondilitis is suffered by those who have lots of guilt feelings dormant in them. Once the guilt is gone through meditation, spondilitis and backache vanish.
