Ok, the last few weeks, i've had pain in the lower right side of my mouth. Just yesterday, i finally was able to see what the cause is. I think it has something to do with the fact that in the back right bottom side of my mouth, i can see a small tooth, which i'm guessing is a wisdom tooth, covered by a small flap of gum. It's not really EXTREMELY painful, but more of an annoying pain, except when i eat certain foods. Is this normal, or should i go and get it looked at? I fear dentists, and i really don't want to have my gum cut off or tooth pulled if i don't have to. Thanks in advance.

Yes, get it checked out. You will more than likely need to have it taken out. If nervous, see an oral surgeon because extractions is what they specialize in. They can put you to sleep if you need to or just give you some gas to help you relax, or they can give you a script for meds to help you relax like valum. If you don't get it checked out it can get infected and really be painful.

It could be the tooth is breaking through and it could be that you are getting impacted teeth due to that wisdom tooth. Go to the dentist and don't be afraid. These dentists have gotten really good these days and there is nothing to fear. They have proved that most people are afraid of dentists due to the noise of the drill and the pressure ( not pain) so realize that and you will get used to it. Good luck!

It does sound like a wisdom tooth coming through. Once it is completely through you should have no further problems with it. It's just at an annoying phase right now.

You didn't mention how old you are?? I would honestly recommend going to dentist, esp. since you probably haven't been in a while, given your fear of them. You may not even need your wisdom teeth out yet (I had a similar problem, but my dentist told me I didn't need to even worry about that yet (I'm deathly afraid of needles)). At least then you could knock out worry of anything more serious. Good luck!

I experienced the same when my wisdom teeth grew. Unfortunately wisdom teeth are a good place for bacteria, therefore you should see your dentist, at least for some counseling on how to clean your mouth better (which products to use).
