what sarge and others said, I think a suppository is easier if relieving costipation is your goal, but laxatives and suppositories can make your bowels dependant on them to go with overuse, I don't think that's a worry with an enema, what sicko would want to overdo that?!

Basically an enema is meant to clear out your insides - your bowels, intestines, all that fun stuff. Doctors order patients to have it done before a procedure such as a colonoscopy. It has nothing to do with making a stomach flatter - to use an enema for such a thing could be considered that the person is bulimic.

it cleanses your colon as a prep for surgery or to relieve constipation by removing stool
and that is not an ignorant question
it makes your abdomen flatter if you are constipated or obstructed and should not be used just to flatten your stomach
there are many types of enemas
fleets
soap suds
high colonic
in the past especially in California it was popular to go to enema spas to cleanse the body
all it did was cleanse the wallet and do possible damage to the gastrointestinal tract with repeated unnecessary use

It only makes your stomach flatter if you are severely constipated and your abdomen is distended, an enema softens the poo and makes it easier to pass clearing you out

An enema (also known as a colonic irrigation) is basically -- pardon the crudity -- shooting water up your @$$ and is usually done to relieve constipation or for "colon cleansing."
