they freeze banana's in off season to make sure they get to the store before they rot. Do you notice they instantly start turning brown after you get them home that night...Those are the frozen ones...

I don't know if they do ripen quicker but I believe that you should keep bananas separate from other fruits as they speed up the ripening process of each other

I too have been told that bananas ripen other fruit in the bowl quicker, and I think they really do...we always put our bananas at the side of our fruit bowl....Just in case!!

avacados ripen quick. berries ripen quick. strawberries in particular. cantalopes. could be the density and water content or chemistry of each fruit.

Definitely keep them away from apples they ripen really quickly.

i think i read somewhere that kiwi's or avacodos ripen faster, i know from my own experience that when i buy an avacodo i usually have to use it that day or the next or else it's no good.

well i can`t answer your question but i have a secret. wrap the banana`s separately in foil and put them in the fridge - they last ages, and if they are really yellow, freeze them in their skins. take them out, leave them for about 15 minutes and you have lovely banana sorbet.
