why not take all felons out of prisons in US and send them to iraq. Fight for their lives like our soldiers are doing. No more three hots and a cot. No more $55,000 per inmate that WE pay for them. If they manage to stay alive, then be set free cause when our poor military guys come home they are usually so physically mamed, mentally distraught, etc., they are unable to pick up where they left off with their families and/or jobs, which may or may not be waiting for them. Is there a law protecting the creeps in prison? Take all the guys on deathrow and let them have a field day over there. What do you think?

The military needs to be made up of honerable, trustworthy and strong men and women. Not low life scum.
Giving convicts guns and explosives and sticking them in a country, and hope they do what we want is plain stupid. At best they run away and are never heard of again. At worse they go kill whoever they want (including americans) and civillians and raping women and children.
Not to mention they would not be trained and would never be able to accomplish a mission, for they would put themselves before everything and everyone else (especially if it's all about survival to them)
I wouldn't want our military to be represented by that.

1. The Constitution forbids cruel or unusual punishment.
2. I doubt the United States would win a single war using felons.
3. Those people who are in Iraq have choose to be there. It's a all volunteer military. And you are taking away from them that they are all hero's who want to be there.

Life and war is not a movie. Please come back to reality. Those of us in the military are just fine with the jobs we do and the reasons we do them. Stick to what you know and we will do the same.

A lot of states used to give them a choice, go to war or go to jail. Now there are a few states that still do this.

Exactly, if it would only be that easy. You got people in there for shooting people, why not bring them there. Gives them a chance to do something besides sitting in a cell all day
