Put the camera on a low light setting, Or put it on automatic and the camera should adjust to the lighting conditions automatically. It could just be the camera, my cannon camera takes great pictures even in the darkest places. People with the darkest of skin tones are still compltely visable even in the darkest conditions. Don't use night mode, its for outdoor photos.

You should mention your camera model and brand here.
Ok, if you have White balence control +2 position is more lights, -2 is less light.
Next ISO setting 400/800 may be used
if it manual control, exposer time fix for a long time with tripod
Lastly use photoshop to customise it.
best of luck

which camera do you have?? If you know how, raise the ISO level up, use a tripod or it will be blurry from handshake due to the slower shutter speed.
Does you camera have a night setting? Either way, you will need an ultra steady surface or tripod if taking night shots.
