I have a copy of WordPerfect DOS with the installation files spread over 6 floppies. How can I transfer all of these onto CDROM so that when I install the program on my new laptop and the installation screen comes up with "please insert disk 2" the setup knows that the disk 2 files are on the CDROM? Do I just copy all the disks onto one CRROM and label each set of files in their own directory as "Disk 1," "Disk 2" etc? Is the installtion program going to know where to look to find the additional files?

I can't just copy and paste into one folder as each disk has a file called "setup.exe" etc.

this is assuming you don't have a floppy drive in your laptop, thus the need for a CDRom. And you have a really old WordPerfect program. Had that myself, and I wish I could send you WP on a CD that you could use from now on.

I believe if you burn each floppy separately as "disk 1," "disk 2," etc., then what you will have to do is point to the CD, because the first installation disk will be looking for the floppy. After that, it should install. If you will contact me, I'll tell you more about a newer WP program.

Correct on the file structure on the CD. The program isn't going to know where the nexr disk is, so, depending on how it is written, you can point it to the Disk2 directory after Disk1 and so on. However, it may ONLY look in the floppy drive. You'll just have to try it and see.

Oh, depending on the file structure of the floppies, you 'might' can stick all files in one driectory and then it wouldn't prompt you for additional disks. But without seeing the file structure, I can't tell you if this will work or not.

Hope this helps.
