Of course you should take him to the vet however some dogs are just finicky. I tour petsmarts and petcos educating people on pet nutrition and Ihave heard so many stories about what a dog will and won't eat.
Aside from possibly being sick your dog could just be sick of the dog food. Make sure you're feeding your dog a premium brand. No by products (heads, feet, feathers, etc) and no corn (its hard to digest). Try feeding a food with all natural products. (Nutro actually guarantees the dog will love it or your money back).
If your dog just doesn't eat feed the dog in intervals - no free feeding. Put the food down and after 10-15 mintues pick the food back up till the next scheduled feeding time.
Also, put some water on the food and put it in the microwave. It brings out the aroma and makes the food more alluring. You can also try putting chicken or beef broth (its all natural) on the food. You can put that also in the microwave to bring out the smell.
Refrain from canned food as a temptation. It gets caught in the teeth and causes rot and decay.

First of all, take him to a vet. There may be a serious problem there. Most dogs like anything that doesn't fight back or get up and walk away. Also, try some medium soft fruit and vegys. All my animals loved that sort of stuff. Good luck

my dogs went through a wierd phase where they would not eat. try putting chicken or beef broth on the food, it might just be sick of eating the same food over and over again. DO NOT put iams savory sauce on the food, it has a lot of bad ingrediants in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it it still wont eat or you think he is sick go with your gut and take it to a vet.

does it suddenly not want to eat what you normally feed him? if so you need to see a vet ASAP..if you are trying a new food then give it a couple of days he will eventually get hungry enough and eat it
