Why cant Muslims eat pork? Are there any other religion that cant eat certain foods and why?

Jews don't eat pork either. It is considered to be a dirty animal.
Most religions have some sort of guidelines about what you should and should not eat, but it usually involves things like alcohol.

Muslims do not eat pork because Islam is a mixture of a variety of different religions including Judiasm. Jews do not eat pork.

Jews dont eat pork and Christians didn't either before because it forbid them to eat it in the OT but I think the NT changed this....I asked a question about this. Most Christians do eat pork.

Mohammed took this on from the Jews, who also do not eat pork.
Both Jews and Muslims have additional dietary laws beyond the prohibition of pig-meat concerning what can be eaten and in what combinations.
Hindus do not eat beef (many are vegetarian).
I'm sure other religions have other restrictions.

Pigs are dirty. Pigs are intelligent animals. There is a worm in pork that could grow in you more than 40 feet long & cant be killed no matter how well the meat is cooked. Pigs have the closest genes to humans. Cant think of any more reasons.

That was always a command by the lord GOD of israel(pbuh) amongst other meats. It was what the jews call not kosher and muslims call not halal. Plus it is not good to eat anyways.
Pork increases cholesterol and blood pressure. And pigs have no sweat glands so you are eating thier bowels. That is why it is so salty. It is thier sweat you are eating. And that is why they are the cleanest outside, but disgusting inside.
Christians are also not supposed to eat it. I don't know why they do. That is the animal the christ casted legion into and had jump off the cliff.

pigs eat their own excrete, carry diseases and worms. how much eva u try 2 cook em dey will neva be clean 2 eat.
even jews arent allowed 2 eat em n 2 a certain extent even some christians dont.
in hindus der is a certain sect called brahmins. they dont eat meat n fish. also many like 'sindhis' or 'gujratis' of hindu faith are strict vegges. well its coz of their own religious laws n rules.

muslims can't eat pork because pork could bring trouble.pork could have worm and bring diseases.
my christian friend say both christianity and judaism forbid eating pork.my hindu friend say that too.i never ask buddist about that.
