I think it's too early to tell what kind of Pope history will call him.

As for the so-called Islamic remarks....they were among the most benign statements a world leader could make. It is only the immaturity of Islam that turned it into a firestorm....and only confirming the concerns raised.

The pope is a leader of Catholics, not all Christians or people. He already showed what happens when you tell the truth about Islam's violence, you get more violence. He was quoting a quote by the way, not waging war.
