I have a 1999 Corolla and im on my third set of wheels and tires so I know that isn't the problem. I have all new shocks and my current tires are balanced. What else could cause my steering wheel to vibrate at anything above 45mph? Thanks!

well, i have had 3 sets of tires and all do the same so I know it's not bad tires. the wheels are balanced and they are 15" wheels.

You may need to get a front end alignment. If your tires are new, they'll wear down fast if you're car's out of alignment.

The most obvious problem of course, is balancing. I would have it checked somewhere OTHER then where you last had them balanced.

If not balancing, then alignment. Have a front end alignment and see if that fixes it.

However, what it sounds to me like, is front brake rotors. When your brake rotors heat up, they can warp. I had a 99 hyundai, and a 93 t-bird that did that. Replace(!) them, don't try to resurface them. Resurfacing is only for when your brake pads wear grooves in the rotors, not for when they warp.

If that fixes it cool. But, don't stop there. Why did the rotors warp? Probably sticky brake calipers, or a bad brake line. My advice would be to replace the rotors, and if that fixes your problem, replace the calipers and brake lines (go ahead and get steel braided ones, they will last much longer).

If all that does not fix your problem, I'd start looking for things like wheel bearins, and ball joints.

One of two things are causing your tires to shake. 1 Maybe your tires are wearing down on the outer rims some cars do that. 2 possibly your tires aren't balanced right or maybe just get new tires, also the lugnuts could not be tightened all the way.

in the experience that your vehicle is pulling to an aspect than it represents that the steerage geometry or the steerage angles at the on the spot are not suitable so wheel alignment is a might want to. The heavy vibrations contained in the steerage wheel factor out that the suspension isn't providing the mandatory damping . before going for brand new shocks you could both pick servicing them and inflating the tires with the suitable stress. besides the undeniable fact that the vibrations close to the legs factor out that the suspensions are out of order ensuing into extreme conduction of vibration and shocks to the body. And vehicle % isn’t the wrongdoer.

well make sure you have the right wheels and tires, size is important in this issue, then check all of your front end componets paying extra attention to the tie rod ends and ball joints

that could be for numerous reasons. first check all of your tires. then pull the fuse out for your abs. your brakes will still work fine, but alot of times, that's the problem. if that dosent work, take it to a mechanic to have it alligned
