why did a mother often tell her child that ,look at chanda mama rather than chanda chacha?

Mama is Mom's brother so its obvious for moms to call Chanda as Mama rather than Kaka who is Dad's brother and not very close to moms as her brother do so she going to call Chand as her brother.........So chanda mama not Chanda Kaka!
