So one day, I was eating popcorn. Nothing wrong with that. And the popcorn bag burned through the plate! What am I going to do? I haven't told my mom so what do I do?

I would hide it forever. Keep it in your locker and when it's summer dig a hole and she will never find it.

I would tell her. If it was a cheap plate, she shouldnt be very upset about it. If it was very nice china, tell her and apologize.

Next time you make popcorn in microwave, make sure you follow directions on popcorn. Do not place bag on any surface since the kernels are still very hot and can cause burns on a lot of surfaces. Do not place popping bag on any other surface while popping. The turntable plate should be enough to hold the bag. Good luck!!

I'm thinking that you used a non-microwave safe plate to make your popcorn on. Well, if it was something your mom doesn't use very much, or never, then I'd say let it go. However, if its one of her favorite sets of everyday dishes, then I'd tell her what happened. If she'd already warned you not to use them in the microwave, then you'll probably get in some hot water about it, but nontheless, you should let her know that you made a mistake, apologize, and offer to get her another plate with your allowance. At least she'll know that she's taught her children well, to take responsibility for their actions and respect other people. And, she'll probably learn that the plates in question absolutely can't be used for microwaving!

Those must be some cheap plates. If you have some money, you could buy her a new set. Decent ones aren't real expensive. Get corelle, they never break or burn.

It was a plastic plate? I don't think your mom will be as upset as you think she will be. Just let her know what happened, tell her the truth.
