A muslim is allowed to have 4 wives prophet mohammed due to god's will had 12 but why did he also have concubines?????? just one example of one concubine.
Safiya Bint Huyway was just one of the numerous Jewish women who became prey to Mohammed's insatiable sexual desire. Regardless of his participation in these barbaric raids Mohammed was alloted 1/5 of the booty as prescribed in the Quran, Sura 8:41. Rayhana Bint Zayd was another Jewish woman, whom Mohammed captured after her tribe was totally butchered. She was known to be a woman of immense beauty. Mohammed kept her as a concubine. so again why did he have concubines?????????

Some people, especially those who make the rules, tend to see themselves as above the rules. However, I do understand that in Mohammed's time, have wives and concubines was considered normal. I think the answer as to "why" is clear to most adults. pssst

This is the only good point about converting to Islam in my opinion: I could have 4+ wives and a number of concubines! But, I'd only feel good about it if women could have 4+ husbands and male concubines.

Actually history gives the names of two concubines:
(1) Marya, whom prophet Muhammad is said to have married her AFTER she gave birth to his son Ibrahim.
(2) Reyhana, whom prophet Muhammad enslaved and proposed her for marriage (like what he did with other slaves) and she refused his proposal and preferred to stay as a slave.

Honestly I believe it is simply an ego choice.... If I were in his shoes and did not have a special woman whom I did not want to hurt (tho I dunno if he cared enuf or not) I would surely love to have a harem of hot sexy women waiting to satisfy me without guilt.
Sex and relationship play can exhaust anyone with the emotional drag-out. If that energy could be channeled into spiritual evenness then what a benefit.

The prophet Muhammad did not sleep with many of his wives. Only married to take care of them under the protection of Allah.

Just more proof that he was not a messenger of God. He lived by/for/of the flesh. He was a sinner and should have believed in Jesus instead of himself.
