There many different causes to acne. Folliculitis is the inflammation of the hair follicles, which is usually the root of "acne." Acne is a broad difinition as furuncles (boils) and carbuncles (inflammation of surrounding skin) are also similar (related) reactions. The issue is the clogging of the pores and the pores inability to deal with foreign bodies. The other is the microbiotia (normal microflora) that live on your skin and can be oppertunistic. (example being Staphylococcus aureus, commonly in the nasophyranx (nose and throat), but also on the skin, has recently been causing MRSA (Methillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) infections on the skin ). There are products designed to soften skin and not cause you pores to clog. You can try either from you dermatologist or check with a Sales Associate in an accredited store that sells skin care. Ohh Bare Essentials products have gotten fantastic ratings on all that, though I have no scientific support for that.
Really it depends on stress, the amount of oils your skin produces (eating affects this), what type of oil you apply, your make up and how you skin reacts to all of these products. I wouldn't advise oil baths unless you know you can use something like an estringent (Clean & Clear or something with alcohol in it) to at the very least clear out your pores after your oil bath. (the alcohol in the estringent can break down oils (to a degree).
Hope this helps!

Well, that is a great question..
It takes a HOT bath to make your skin feel soft and adition to having oils in the water, it will probably make you sweat a little more than usual. so maybe the excess sweat is causing you to break out? If i were you, i'd use oil of olay, in shower lotion...it really works and the formula isn't oily at all.

I once had a doctor explain to me what people need to do if they have dry or oily skin.
He said that if you have oily skin and use the products for oily skin, those products dry the oil up, but your skin will "think" it is dry so it produces more oil to balance that out. You need to trick your skin into producing less oil by using products for dry skin. By adding the extra moisture to your skin, the skin will produce less oil naturally. The acne may get worse for a little while, but it will clear up.
You would do the opposite for dry skin. You would use products for oily skin that will dry your skin out at first, but then your skin would begin to produce more oil to moisturize it naturally.
Hope that makes sense to you.

Depends on the oil I think. The oils might clog your pores afterwards.
However as you are female I would worry more about washing off makeup every night as that causes the most clogged pores of all.

put baking soda in your bath water, will soften your skin very nicely..for your face,
raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
to open the pores and loosen dirt and grease from your face turn off the heat from a pan of distilled water, add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of the hot water. drape a towel over the pan and your head to steam clean your pores. take a cotton ball, dip in vinegar and pat over skin to remove loosened dirt. repeat 2 more times. then spray or dab on chilled vinegar and equal part of distilled water to close your pores and tone your skin. do twice weekly, also can use the chilled vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily.
it is amazing ....
raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
use this apple cider vinegar for rejuvenating results. first, wash the skin in warm water, no soap. next, apply a wrung out hot water soaked cloth to the face for 3 minutes, then remove. soak thin cloth in warm vinegar water 2 tbsp per cup of water and again apply to face. cover the vinegar soaked cloth with a towel wrung out in hot water, relax and lie down for 10 minutes or more, if possible with feet elevated above head. remove both cloths and gently rub skin upwards with towel or small loofah face pad. this rub removes the hundreds of dry skin scales. you can repeat this weekly or as needed. your skin will look youthful and beautiful..
i also drink the vinegar, 1-2 tablespoons in water with honey in the morning..and i use the vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily..
good luck
