No, I know a muslim whom is a vegetarian. You just can not eat pork, the carcass of animals(like road kill), and what is not slaughtered in the name of allah. But that one is hard to escape, so you are forgiven if you are not permitted. For example, I live in america and is damn near impossible to escape.
But you can eat meat. All meats are edible/halal besides what I mentioned above. Even shell fish and caffeine. But eating meat is a personal choice. Oh, and no alcohol.
PEACE!

No you dont have to eat meat to be a Muslim. But if you DO eat meat- it has to be Halal meat- slaughtered in a quick and natural way, and be killed in God's name (sort of like saying a blessing over it- or thanking God for it) But you can be a vegetarian and a Muslim, if that is what you mean,

No dear Rose .. u do not HAVE to eat meat if u do not like it .. in Islam u eat whatever u like except those few kinds of food that hurt ur health and which Allah has made them clear 4 us .. such as pork meat .. and u do not eat whatever u do not like 2 eat ..
Allah says in The Holy Qur'an :" He has only forbidden you carrion, blood and pork and what has been consecrated to other than Allah. But anyone who is forced to eat it-without desiring it or going to excess in it-commits no crime. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Qur'an, 2:173)
Hope this helps ..

I don't thinks that's a prerequisite.
It just so happens that there are a lot of sheep out there so they, like the Greeks, make a lot of lamb dishes.

I think every religion I've heard of lists what you can't eat, but I've never seen one with a mandatory food list.
I think as long as you follow the other rules, you're kosher.
