I've gone everywhere around here and they all stink, not authentic..

Thanx for you input... but still looking for abetter answer.. we went to DON Juans on friday, it was OK, portions were small and service was barely adequate....
Not gonna drive to logan square for lunch.. . ? and if i was going there,i would go to Abril, it's my favorite mexican in the city...
And as for MAria's it was better a couple years ago, it was closed for 4 months (2 years ago) thanx to the department and it's just not that good...
Keep the new ideas coming...

You're trying to find something that doesn't exist. Des Plaines just isn't the place for good Mexican. You'd do better looking for good Arabic or Lebanese...but not Mexican.
And I agree...Abril is awesome...

Sounds like something in Rosemont would be ideal, but I cannot think of anything. These two might be a little too far away, but look them up.

Nothing good out there. If you want authentic, take a taxi to Zacateca's in Logan Square. Wednesday and Saturday nights are great there and the food is awesome...especially the huevos con camarones (eggs and shrimp) and the bistec con tostones (steak and fried plantains)
