HOW USEFUL AM I TO THE COMMON CRIMINAL TO LOCATE SOMEONE & POSSIBLY DO HARM TO THEM? I ANSWERED A QUESTION FOR SOMEONE THAT IS LOOKING TO LOCATE THEIR SON BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE OTHER QUESTIONS S/HE ASK FOR A SSN? A PARENT SHOULD KNOW THEIR CHILDS SSN...AM I BEING TO CAUTIOUS? I don't think you're paranoid but maybe a little over reactive. Not all parents know their children's SSN. My son is 27 and I don't have a clue to what his SSN is and I'm sure that my mother didn't know what mine was. I would be concerned about it but don't over react on yourself or you'll worry for nothing in most cases.

i dont know how usefull a SSN would be but it sounds more like a good way of obtaining a SSN for ilegal workers just a thought

whether you are being paranoid or not isn't the issue. Your first instincts are usually correct. If you don't feel comfortable giving info. then don't do it. Paranoia has saved many a life.

dont give out your ssn to ANYONE...especially not online as you cannot prove their identity.
