Thieves steal because they think they can get money reselling the stuff. So if something looks without value, old, rusty or simply dusty, they wont go for it.
When a thieve breaks into a house, he/she has very specific things in mind he is going after. Electronics, coins collections, cash, jewelry, paintings. Car thieves will never steal an old-looking car...

My furniture, in fact if I were to get robbed I think the thief would be pissed because he probably would have spent more in gas to get to my house than he would make on any of my stuff.
