I work 8 to 5 with a 30 minute lunch, then I go to school from 6 to 11P.M., from 5 to 6 it usually takes me 45 minutes to drive to school. I need to know what kinds of foods I can eat to stay healthy, instead of eating junk food at school and taco bell everyday at work.

I guess I would recommend planning your meals, and bring your stuff with you. I always end up taking a sandwich and a can of soup for lunch. Breakfast is fruit and a granola bar, maybe some yogurt or a bowl of cereal, and if I'm really daring, maybe a bagel. Always have snacks for yourself throughout the day. Keep a couple of apples, oranges, grapes or other fruits with you, and maybe some carrot sticks and other veggies. I find that I stay the most full throughout the day when I have enough stuff to snack on. Obviously, you can also bring some crackers and cheese or pretzels. Like I said, I love soup and sandwiches, but you can also bring a couple salads to hold you over throughout the day.

Hope this helps!

Fruits, some people find them filling, others dont. However, its a nice grab and go that will hold you for a while.

Smoothies, make your own, or buy pre-made from the store (in the yogurt section, low fat ones are chalky but regular ones are good). Lots of vitamins and very healthy. I find them to be satisfying.

Sandwiches - PB&J, lunch meat (freeze meat, letuce, other toppings overnight if you dont have place to keep them cool throughout the day)

Subway - a little more expensive than Taco Bell, but its fast food that is fresh and a lot healthier than the greese. Stay away from dressings and oils to make it even healthier.

I think everyone's suggestions have been really good....definitely precut some veggies and pack them away, and make a fruit bowl or bring along some fruit. Sandwiches are always good...they're portable and you can put pretty much anything on them, so that you get variety. if you get bored with slices of bread, try wrap sandwiches (which might also help satisfy your craving for taco bell). There are alot of good varieties of whole wheat or flax wraps at grocery stores now...fry some chicken, beef or pork, and throw in some lettuce, cheese and salsa, and you're good.
The one thing people have forgotten to mention is trail mix! You can buy it, or make your own with things that you really like (I like cashews, almonds, dried cranberries, raisins, and sunflower seeds). Make a big batch at home, and bring a small bag of it with you each day. The nuts and seeds have fats and protein, and will help satisfy any crunchy, salty cravings you get, and the dried fruits will satisfy sweets cravings. I hope this helps you with you busy day!

wow, your sure busy, and it is so tempting to grab the bad stuff.

Here is what I do to stay on track. Good intentions aren't always good enough, I find you have to pack something your actually going to eat, one could always pack veggies and fruit, but if you know you aren't going to eat it. It will make Taco bell look even more appealing.

I also go through my weight watchers cookbook, (you can buy the complete cookbook at Chapters or Barnes and Noble, and it gives you all the points,) they have really healthy recipies that taste really good, some of them you can make ahead like before bed, so its all ready for the next day. some are even indulgent. another really, really good cookbook for make-A-head meals that I use is "eat, shrink and be merry" the food in there is all healthy, and delicious, when i was working,I would make their taco salad. it tasted great! and it wasn't fattening like Taco bell. It filled me up too.

Prep your food for a couple of days ahead of time, buy yourself a chicken and roast it in the oven, slice it up so its handy.cut up fruits and veggies and put in zip lock bags.Make yourself some rice and steam some broccoli or asparagus or whatever veggie you like, you can always reheat it in the microwave. This way you can pack yourself a lunch, eat healthy and save money. There are all sorts of things you can do you just have to plan and prep ahead of time, but think how good you will feel about yourself for taking these steps for healthier living.

Pack some fresh fruits, so you can eat them easily on the way. Make a healthy sandwich and bring it with you. There are lots of things you could eat. You just have to figure out what is easiest to travel with.

Spend a Sunday evening preparing meals for the week. Then put even portions in tupperware and carry what you need with you each day.
