As the first day of Crufts comes to a close.... it would be great to find out which breeds of dog people have enjoyed seeing (or would like to see) the most?

I'd be most interested in seeing the hound groups - specifically the sighthounds as I admire their grace.

It would be good to see the otterhound highlighted as these are so rare at the moment. It would be a shame if the breed were to die out because of low interest/knowledge of the breed. Perhaps highlighting their characteristics and traits to the public would be a good way of informing them of a breed which may suit their lifestyle.

Mostly though, I enjoy seeing the dogs when they are active. Flyball and agility are great to watch.

I enjoyed the brief glimpses of the Irish Setter & really enjoyed seeing some of the lesser known dogs from the Discover Dogs area.

The breeder of my Bengal cat also bred Coton D'Toulon (?? not sure if I've got that right) & I met a puppy when I picked up my kitten so it was really good to see one on tv.

I'm hoping to see some Chinese Crested .... just to see if some of the show dogs look as ugly as the ones that win the 'world's ugliest dog' contests ... (aw, lol - some of them look really gorgeous too) plus hoping to see some Shih Tzu & the King Charles Spaniels.

Some Leonbergers, a Deerhound or two & some Scotties would be great too. Plus any other rare or unusual breeds.

Thanks

PS I'm also looking forward to seeing the puppies next year after the docking ban comes in ... it'll be good to see some more dogs complete with tails. I know that they'll look odd & that breeders will be complaining that the tails may be all shapes, sizes & colours because they haven't been breeding for tails ... but in time everyone will get used to seeing them that way & the unmutilated ones will be the ones that look odd. I think it's a shame that it doesn't apply to working dogs too ... setters, pointers & labs are all gundogs & they all have tails so why should the spaniels be different? Likewise GSD have tails ... so why should working Doberman not ... though I must admit I'm not sure which working dogs the ban does apply to.

I always enjoy the pastoral groups and the gun dogs most.In the past I had an Irish Setter and my present dog is aBorder Collie so I'm biased. I do enjoy seeing the less common breeds at Crufts. Finding out about different breeds is one of the things which makes the show interesting.

i love the toy breed section, i brought the dvd last year of the toy group and it hardly showed any of them, i felt this was a huge con that the kennal club made.

I was at crufts last year for the toy breeds and that was great, as i own chihuahuas / pomeranians it was great to see, shame the bbc dont show more.

its confusing to assert having been out of the 'professional' dogs coach circuit for over a year! my previous lady is in 'semi-retirement' and in reality is going to interior sight open and spouse dogs shows! i could have a more suitable positive theory after I watch the communities being judged and see the seven team winners on the BBC! regrettably im now unlikely to crufts this year-yet hopefuly i'd be getting a 'coach' puppy presently and be again contained in the 'swing of issues'!

well as i look at my two lancashire heelers snoring on the settee! i would like to see more heelers please! the little dog with the big attitude! but i really enjoyed watching the gundog group today....especially the cocker spaniel (english) and i would have liked to see more colours like the black/tan and liver roan etc. but only because we are thinking about getting a black/tan cocker to show (that was until the whole thing about being unable to show docked dogs born after april 07 came up-i feel really ill now-as i DONT want a long tail cocker, i want a docked cocker! im not sure if i could own a cocker with a tail) cocker, sussex, clumber and irish water spaniel are probably the gundogs i would most like to own!

I have a Kerry Blue Terrier and as I've only ever seen a few of them, I'm looking forward to seeing the Terrier group!

I like the Bouvier des Flandres as well!

I am going on saturday, and am delighted, as it is Terriers and Hounds, and I want to see Bedlington Terriers. I have one crossed with a Jack Russel, and pure-breeds are SO cute.
