I have a shoulder length bob now that is-well, not flattering. I have a round face and the unbroken length + bangs just isn't working. I am a mom so little time to primp-so the current crap style is at least easy-wash, air dry. I don't want to go short, but I am thinking of layers (the ends are razored now-didn't help much). How much upkeep is there in layers? What about the current trend of rounding the sides (not sure of terms) so they aren't so blunt? I see it mainly with longer hair starting around the chin and going to the tips-not often with shoulder length w/bangs-can it work at that length?

Thanks for the info so far! I just changed jobs too and my old job-looks didn't matter (it was social services work, so with all the stress the last thing anyone cared about was how we looked) but now I work with college age kids and would like to avoid looking to "momish" since I am only 33! And I may have to suck it up and get up early to at least dry my hair-ugh the loss of ten min of sleep time pains me:)

Oh-and how often will I need to get a cut with a more "detailed" style? Now I cut the bangs every 3-4 weeks and cut overall about 8 weeks. My hair is fine but there is a lot of it and it grows fast so that is making me lean away from short or cuts that have to have a lot of work on them-I would be getting it cut all the time.

Just go with your instinct and make some drastic changes, I'm pretty sure you'll like the results.....I know I did.

I am a mom of 2 and I work a full time job. I have my hair layered. No there isn't that much upkeep on it if it is cut right. My hair is down to the middle of my back and I don't have any bangs at all and I have a round face as well. The only thing I do to my hair every morning is I wash it and then I blow dry it. If I have extra time I may sometimes curl the ends but other than that I only ever blow dry my hair. Being a full time mom is hard work and you sometimes don't even have time for yourself to go do anything. So I completely know how you feel about wanting a low maintance hair style.
I have a picture on myspace page if you want to go look.

well the new style is natural wave.

best thing to do try to primp you hair and save time and money, with the lengeth you can wash then twoel dry and use some gel any type will do cryle will work do, butscrunch your hair with your hands and as it dries you will have naturaly wavy-looking full body hair that took less then a minuet to do.
