I have just had a week of thought about this subject.
I found after a few days I got what seemed addicted to answering questions on here. After a few weeks more, I stopped cold and found I felt depressed all day.
I realised then that answering questions was filling a missing part in my life.
It does a few things. It fulfills the need to feel helpful to others.
It fills ego by being the one who knows the answer or how to find it.
It stops boredom, from being a multi-subject, short time taken , and easily forgotten and move on to the next one like a bag of assorted candies.
I went back today and answered only to see if the depression lifted and it did after only answeringf two questions.
I find nothing wrong with something that makes me feel better.
I do think it must be regulated and done in moderation, so I am giving it to myself as a feel good medicine of sorts in a small dose each day.
Dont feel guilty, there are people out there getting off on answering question to make others feel bad or feel stupid.
We are doing it as therapy for a hole in our life and to find a easy fix is a wonderful thing,

Trying to help, different viewpoints all can be a draw... I'm the same way... what's best is to cultivate understanding that everybody DOES have different viewpoints from us and that you can only do so much to help. If someone doesn't or can't agree with you, why get frustrated and angry? All it does is generate higher blood pressure and whatever other issues you suffer when you're frustrated. Generate a calm mind, do what you can, know that different people are different because they've come from different causes and conditions that make them who they are, and DO NOT let them make you angry. Only YOU can let you become angry.

I, too, need to work! I can't stop getting on here!
My boss keeps asking me if I am looking at porn because I always click off the screen when he comes around. LOL!

Hey, I find Yahoo answers much more fun than work! I mean, there are other people that can handle what you would be doing at work, but only you can be yourself here!

You are obviously lost. I mean come on already, "girl preacher"? That is the biggest contradiction ever. It is like saying "free with purchase" It just doesn't add up.

I'm the same way. I find it's like a train wreck...you know you shouldn't be looking, and you don't want to, but you just can't help it.
