Pretty self explainitory really. I'm 16 and have been diagnosed with glandular fever(via blood test) and have developed a cold/flu type virus after catching it from a friend. Recently I having been coughing alot and when I use my mouthwash(listerine) to clean my tonsils a blood type mucus is spat out. Has anyone else had promblems like this due / related to glandular fever or otherwise?
Thanks very much

A sore throat needs immediate attention. Usually treated with broad spectrum antibiotics. Gargling with mouth wash will not stop the infection. You have fevers because there's an infection already. Go see an EENT doctor who can figure out what you really have and get the proper medication for it. Right now, I can suggest warm drinks to temper the infection but stay away from drinks that have milk or dairy in them because milk causes the bacteria to develop further. I would suggest also hot ginger tea or gargle with iodized salt dissolved in warm water. Bottom line - go see a doctor.
