A friend was in London on business and was stopped by a couple of Japanese tourists who asked him the way to Madam Tussauds. Now, he knows it was wrong but he couldn't resist it. He pointed to the double yellow lines in the road and said "just follow these, they will lead you there"
(Sorry but I p1ssed myself laughing).

That's the sort of thing Dom Joly would have done on Trigger Happy TV - and I fell about laughing watching that programme. So I must be seriously bad...maybe even pure evil.

I'm sure there are plenty of Japanese people who would do that sort of thing to a British tourist who didn't know any better.

Not if you intentionally go out to mock people. Otherwise it's ok. You can't help having a few giggles at something, especially when your "not supposed to".

A comedian once joked about the paralympics, people walked out because it was "disrespectful". . .

If you can't take a joke, why be at a stand up comedy show, because all the minority groups get's a joke thrown at them.

It's good to laugh at things, especially when it's difficult to deal with.

It depends. If they were elderly,or a couple with young children, then no, it's not funny. Some of them have health issues that don't allow them the luxury of following double yellow lines until eternity. Not to mention, kids get tired and their little legs hurt. But if it was a younger couple, then yeah.....laugh it up.

NO having a joke is fine, although it's a bit mean playing a joke on tourists.

Laughing is one of the best forms of medicine.

I do think it's funny, but I think I'd have called them back if they'd fallen for it and started to follow the lines for real :P

Now why is that even remotely funny. No wonder the English have such a bad name.
