I have dyed my hair black, it is quite short but it seems that the back of my hair is growing pretty long, while the front stays pretty short...i was wondering if this could by down to straightening or dying?

Dyeing and straightening and over-working your hair will make it weaker and more prone to splitting and breaking. But it is entirely possible that different areas of your head grow at a faster rate.

Your hair will continue to grow at the rate it did before you ever did anything to it. For a lot of people that may have been so long ago they may not remember.

Everyone who has anwered so far are correct.
Hair may grow at different rates on various parts of your head. Using so many treatments on your hair can result in splits ends, which affect hair growth, because a split can continue right up to new growth at the scalp level, if you do nothing about it. Which means the new hair will grow already split. If you straighten and dye damaged hair it will eventually break because it's so weak. Clip clip clip split ends while they are at the ends. And condition use salon-quality like Wella or Biolage. The more natural ingredients the better.

The things you do to your hair will still affect it, but at least you will be fighting back.

If I told you something or everything you already know, i apologize. : )

If I mentioned something you didn't know...

I hope it helps.

I'm sure it's not healthy but I also don't think it's horrible for your hair.
