You will need some form of government issued photo identification for check in and security checks, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a passport. As a general practice, most international fliers just use the passport rather than fumble with a drivers license or student id or something, but there is no law requiring that you show a passport for state to state flights, provided there is no international connection or final destination.

No. But if you are a Canadian I would recommend always carrying your passport when you travel, they have these power hungry security people at the airports now. Just as if I were flying from one Province in Canada to another I would be sure and have my passport.

I do not think so. I have never been asked to show one.
