DVD- good picture and good sound, Its can hold 4.7GB of information.

BLU-RAY-awesome Hi-Def picture quality and Hi-Def sound. It can hold 50GB of information. So the possibility of special effects and detailed imagery and sound are endless.

Having said this its all about what you want to get out of a film, If you want the standard film experience then settle for DVD but if you've got an HD telly and love the cinematic experience go for BLU-RAY.

The cheapest way to get into hi-def movies is via a PlayStation 3. Its more like a media centre than a games console. Its got uber storage, its on-line so you can download and shop. Its BLU-RAY and much much more. Check www.blockbuster.co.uk they got the cheapest deals in the UK guaranteed. But get one quick because stocks are slimming country wide.

Hope this helps.

They play blu-ray disks - these are the ultimate in high definition.
You would obviously need a HD television as well.

P.S - the cheapest way to get a Blu-ray DVD player is to buy a PS3 when they come out.

they are hi def. they are also twice as big storage wise. They will not play in dvd player you need a blue ray player. Lastly they use a blue laser beam rather than a red one.

blu-ray disks are high definition and can hold 25-50gb of data, as oppose to the normal 4.7gb.
