Y'day was my first day the gym and the trainer made me work out a lot esp with my leg muscle grp(squats n kicks). This morning my legs are sore and in terrible pain. I can barely walk/sit/stand. Is it good to take a break with the gym today and let my muscles cool down a bit?

I wrote a reply to this earlier, but you deleted the question. I dont want to write out everything again, so here was the jist of it.

If I were you - no. You really need to give your body rest after working out. If you go to the gym today, do upper body but nothing with your legs.

You may be sore for a few days, this is normal after the first hard work out. Drink plenty of water, make sure you are getting protein (needed for repairing your muscles), and get some rest. After a few more sessions, you wont feel as sore all the time.

Yes absolutely. But I would go with a relatively easy session swimming laps and/or on the stationary bike or elliptical. An easy aerobic session will get the blood flowing through the abused areas and help them come back quicker. Guaranteed it will relieve the soreness.

You need to keep exercising. What you are doing is building muscle to protect your bones so the first few weeks of a new workout regime you will be sore. But stick with it.
