I met this really nice guy. We ended up in bed. He was actually quite nice and we had a great evening. Anyway, when he was leaving he said 'that was good!'. I said 'actually that was, for a first time.' THEN I realized that could imply that I expected a relationship or something, so I covered up by saying 'or an only time or whatever this was, that was good'. Then I laughed and hugged him goodnight. He looked at me right in the eye with a weird look and said "I will talk to you tomorrow'

bad cover up or good cover up

p.s. Please don't critisize me. I am in my 30's and haven't had any in 2 years! I needed that night!

I don't know about good or bad.
But damn funny.

Actually, to be quite honest, it wasn't even a slip-up in the first place! Did that ever cross your mind? Just because you said "...for a first time" doesn't imply that there will be a second time AT ALL! I certainly wouldn't think that if I were him! I think you were just nervous and cautious given your situation. Who cares anyway!! It's funny, you will look back on it and laugh. Don't worry about it.

Actually, if you had said that to me, I would've thought that you meant that "it" wasn't that good!

No it wasn't a good recovery. Mainly because it probably wasn't a big deal until you started back-paddling.
I think that is why he gave you the "weird look".

Anyway, if I were you, I would just push that one as far back in my mind as I can make it. It's done, it's over, he said he'll call you tomorrow.

He WILL call you tomorrow won't he?
If he doesn't then I doubt that it would be due to just one awkward moment. But he will I'm sure. ;-)

It is a fine cover up. And if he wasn't planning to call then it doesn't really matter anyway. If he is planning to call then he will regardless of that comment. I think women place too much significance on small things while guys kind of ignore everthing.

If he calls then great but if not don't think it's because of what you said, it would be because he was never going to anyway.

So are you saying you ended up in bed after meeting him for the first time? I guess its all going to depend on what type of guy he is and what hes looking for. Remember man are from mars and women are from Venus.
Who knows what he thinks I guess you will find out if he calls you again.
You sound like maybe you just needed sex

he looked at you weird because it sounded like you were speaking about the sexual encounter and implying that that the sex was was your first time, then when you tried to do the cover up, it sounded like you were questioning him as to if it was the last time, then you said the sex was good all in one sentence.....it sounded like you kinda tripped all of a sudden...

so...not a good or bad "recovery" cause he wasn't thinking you were talking about a relationship in the first place....

tee hee!

There's nothing wrong with getting you some. But when you give it up so soon you lose respect just as soon as you lay down. Just consider it as a one night thing cause that's all it was. 30's, 40's or 50's, giving it up too soon will give you the same results. I'm not criticizing you, just being real.

No offence but it was a bit of a wierd thing to say in the first place, when i first read that i thought you meant you're first time in bed! The cover up was a tad bit lousy but if he said 'I will talk to you tomorrow' maybe it wasn't thet bad.

lol I can picture the look on his face. You should have left it the way it was, it was a perfectly fine statement. You came off as calm and cool. The followup flipped it all around lol and made you look nervous and confused. I wouldn't worry about it, but he probably does think you are strange.

To be quite honest, I think you could have left your statement as it was. That would have let him know that you might want to see him again, not a bad thing. But fumbling for recovery might have made you look insecure. It sounds as if it was quite awkward!

Honey, who are we to judge or critisize? You go get yours!!!

I think it was a great recovery! I don't think it implied that you expect a relationship or anything.

Good luck...hope he calls! :)
