It would but for the time, effort and quite a bit of money i personally would not do it, unless you were going to do most of the labor.

Yes it does. I'm assuming that when you say skyline you mean the GT-R that comes with the RB26DETT. Although there are others RB20, RB25, RB25 Neo Straight Six, this one of the baddest and the most popular swap. If you do go on with this know that it's going to take a lot of money and a lot of work plus looking for a rare RB25 rear wheel drive transmission. Even though over the years more and more companies are starting to produce mounts and kits to ease this swap. Money wise its going to be roughly 4,000 to 5,000 dollars for the engine 3,700 dollars to mount roughly, and your still at the stock 320 hp (276 advertised hp is a lie) which is not bad, but an SR20DET from a Silvia with that amount of money invested could be doing upwards of 500hp. I'm doing the RB26DETT swap into my Nissan 300zx and it's fun saying I have a skyline engine in my car but now I have to wait for parts to upgrade while people with the other swap are having fun and talking smack. My advice to you research all you can and plan a budget before you do anything

The engine is called an rb26dett. You can swap them into a 240, it's been done heaps of times. It's really not worth it unless you're fairly wearily and will be doing most of the work yourself. The engine with an uncut harness and the oem ecu is around 4k. Then you have to use the rb25 transmission because the rb26 transmission is for AWD and 240s are RWD. I'd personally go 2jz or 1jz, it's cheaper and has more potential than the rb IMO.

Yes, and it's not as big a job as you'd think. We've done countless RB25DET and RB26DETT swaps into S-chassis Nissans - Check out www.240sx.org, there's a TON of tutorials there, and www.240sxTech.com has a step-by-step guide on wiring your RB into a 240sx.

Which Skyline? There are more than a few different engines and configurations.

Yes it does with some modification here and there. Its heavier than the popular SR20DET swap. Anyway check this link.
