Ignore those ppl that reply you stating the word racist!
I understand it......cz caucasian guys are generally more open minded than...maybe other races such as Asians, so if we are going to base it on tv program sort of thing, white guys normally greet others by giving a kiss on the cheek...
so, if it is not in your culture to do so, I think, you should jst remain calm, and maybe shake his hand first, just to let im know, your way of greaating is by shaking hands, to acknowledge each other. I hope I help a little here.

well we dont kiss. not unless we really know the person on a personal level. that could mean a sister an aunt or a dear friend. those people some would kiss as you said . which side does not matter. you would both kiss each other at the same time so the greeting would be all done at the same time . at least the kiss part then you would hold hands briefly and not so much shake but just do this and say hi blah blah .
then not hold hands any more and no more kissing at least until the person is leaving again for good.
men dont kiss each other except in rare rare cases brothers might kiss each other about 3 times in a life time.
men who are not brothers dont kiss period.
shake hands yes.
brothers and great friends i mean the best friend ever might hug briefly no kissing . this is rare. hugs are more joking around things here for men not big on hugs.
all of this is based on straight natural people who follow the laws of nature. not gay people only they know what they do and i sure dont want to know.
as for a girlfriend or maybe an internet date sort of girl you meet at the air port then you would kiss
a girlfriend yes big kiss longer time away bigger the kiss.
take note here not all couples are ok with much kissing in public so they might limit the kiss to something smaller. until later.
i hope this helps you .
in general all people male female that you dont know or are meeting for the first time or for bussiness not friends we just shake hands 4 shakes max and smile . some men attempt to show strength with the hand shake i dont i think that stupid as it is suppose to mean friend no weapon not friend but i am stroung so i can kill you with my bear hands. but at any rate
a good grasp is needed the squezze is up to you .

It has more to do with culture and nationality than it does with ethnicity or race.

In New Zealand, greetings are usually done with a handshake, with the man waiting for the lady to extend her hand first.

not somewhat- there is a surprising little bit of racism interior the West. besides, each and every physique has diverse tastes, and to maximum women folk ethnicity potential extremely not something in case you're beautiful and captivating. Asian men could be seen unique by using some yet there is not any clean nationwide selection by using all caucasian American females in direction of them. i'm assuming you're an Asian guy who desires to attain with white females?

i don' t touch when i greet someone for the first time, I'm awkward like that. The only advice i can give is remain calm at all times. You'll do just fine.
